Digg’s Most Popular Domains

“Most Digged” Domains By Topic

Lately Digg has had ‘issues’ with its users constantly burying stories that are interesting simply out of jealousy over another site creator’s content getting more attention. But that doesn’t mean that a major traffic boost to your site is going to be a bad thing. There’s a pretty scientific process to being Dugg.

1. Make a bullet-pointed list with wide general interest. The bigger the audience could be, the better your chances are.

2. Be controversial. Boring and rehashed information isn’t worth the time you waste typing it. Obviously, the point is to introduce a fascinating piece of news or informationin a way that no one has read before. Be succinct, a little sarcastic, add a dash of humility…

3. Find 25-35 or so random people to Digg your post. The point is to have a core Digg Circle that flies under the radar of the Digg Mods. Making a group public will only get you banned. Rotate who Diggs who and when and how often. You don’t want the same people Digging your posts every time (duh).

4. Find other posts on a popular blog via Technorati or Delicious or whatever talking about a similar topic. Contribute meaningful conversation and subtly mention that you have our own opinions about the topic. Then offer a link back to your post, either in the comment or in the header link of your comment.

5. Lather, rinse, repeat.
